We can supply pre-prepared trip time and distance matrices for use in your own applications. These can, for example, be loaded into a database and used to perform road distance queries without needing to purchase and integrate a travel time engine or expensive road networks.

An example system would use a travel matrix to link patients to their nearest hospital, sales leads to their local representative or customers to their nearest supermarket.

Drive time and distance matrices are available for the following point sets:

• 2001 Census Output Area population weighted centroids
• 2001 Census Lower Super Output Area centroids
• Postcode Sector centroids

Custom Matrices

We can also produce custom matrices to your specifications. You might want to customise:

• Origin and destination locations (e.g.  customers and suppliers)
• Road or public transport network used
• Off-network travel spee
• Maximum distance travelled or time taken
• Road speeds (e.g. peak or off-peak travel)
• Urban areas or congestion charge zone
• Geographical area (we can generate matrices for any part of the world provided we have access to a suitable transport network)
