Geocoding is the process of using information about a location, typically an address and/or postcode to find a coordinate for that location.
![]()
This is typically the starting point of a process. Once the location is know it can be used in other ways, for example, plotted on a map, used in distance calculation or to associate with a geodemographic classification. Our bureau geocoding service uses our own algorithm to clean your input data, replacing common misspellings and reformatting postcodes into the correct format. We can also check against previous postcodes, helping to ensure the best possible chance of a match even with old input data. Postcode and address data are supplied by Ordnance Survey. |
