Performance Benchmarking PDF Print E-mail

In performance benchmarking the objective is to compare the current performance of a
site to the performance we would expect, given the site characteristics on key drivers.

This information is of major importance to:

  • Understand which factors lead to underperformance
  • Roll out a plan for network reinvention or staff training schemes
  • Target areas for specific marketing campaigns
  • Set attainable stretch targets for growth across a network of branches
Benchmarking performance against peer group sites

Examples applications include:

  • Telecom operators may wish to evaluate traffic through communication hubs to understand why sites are underused and target new areas to meet changing demand
  • Retailers may wish to understand which stores are underperforming because of poor location, changing market conditions or staff training
  • Health providers may wish to understand why screening programs are not reaching the target population in some areas, and use this insight to devise more specific campaigns to reach out to these communities
  • A bank may wish to balance sales targets across its network conditional on the branch performance compared to its peers

The Wendover Group use a variety of statistical tools to help you answer these and other questions. We will:

  • Take a list of your sites and attach location and market specific attributes
  • Segment the estate to create peer groups
  • Perform a key drivers analysis to identify what makes good performance
  • Model expected performance and compare it against actual performance to identify under and overperformance
  • Analyse which factors contibute most to underperforming sites
  • Help set attainable stretch targets
